SOULfoot...

…….crosses borders and brings people together through culture!

Be a part of it!

SOULFOOT IS A SHOW, WHERE ARTISTS TELLING STORIES THAT START INSIDE AND ARE EXPRESSED TROUGH MUSIC, HUMOR AND TROUGH DANCE AND BODY ART.

SOULfoot...

… Brings the world to the stage: The show is inspired by dance and music styles from different countries in Europe, Africa, Asia and South America. It combines a variety of international dance styles with musicians, singers and acrobats and merges their performances into a moving and poetic work of art.

…Crosses borders and brings people together through culture. In art it does not matter what language you speak or what colour skin you have, because the language of art is universal and understood through the heart.

… Is exchange: The show brings people together; artists and audiences interact with one another. The audience are not passive to what is shown on the stage, but are actively involved – through movement and music. ” Be a part of it ” is therefore the motto of the show. Viewers dive into a magical world in which they themselves are a part of the constant flow of music and energy.

IDEA

Finn Martin (1961-2011), once said about himself:

“The only thing that really motivates me is to build bridges between people, between cultures, between genres.”

For the Irish-Swedish musician, this desire was of inner necessity – in conversations and encounters with people from different countries he had met on his travels to Africa, Latin America Europe and Asia.

THE SHOW

As the artists from Africa, Europe, Asia and South America show their skills Aziz Kuyateh explains: “We are all on our way, we are all searching, we are all walkers,” he explains his journey: the history of the human search for truth, meaningful happiness that is endless. Aziz connects with the artists on stage through stories and anecdotes of migration narrated in his native language translated via subtitles. The stage serves as a springboard to delve into different cultures. On a big screen images and sandpaintings are shown, presenting the artists and landscapes from which they originate.

HISTORY

The first step to the stage for Soulfoot was in 2003. The show previously named “World Tour” was performed in front of an audience at GOP Variety in Bad Oeynhausen. In 2010 Soulfoot was performed for the first time on a big stage at “Theatre Fliegende Bauten” in Hamburg/Germany. In September 2011 the ensemble toured in 14 cities in Germany and Austria. In August 2014 Soulfoot performed at festivals in Austria and Germany before the ensemble went to Nelson Mandela Theatre in Johannesburg (South Africa)

As part of the commitment of “SOULfoot..the world on stage” in South Africa and the related performances in schools in Pretoria and in the township “Alexandra ” the idea was born to start the non profit association of “ One Child One instrument “.

The purpose of the association is the musical promotion of children in developing countries for which the charitable organization collects instruments as well as for sale acquires, on the other hand they can produce in the countries by themselves.

We belive that “music as a universal language” will help to understand and respect each other. Also music is the key to find love and talents in ourselves we do not know yet.
